Panama, the southernmost country in Central America, is a mix of everything. Nature has bestowed everything of her best in this tiny country and humans have also created things here that are considered among the best in the world. The Panama Canal is an architectural wonder of the world and San Blas Panama is a place that is steeped in nature and history. For your visit to Panama, these are two areas of attraction that you mustn’t miss at any cost.

The Panama Canal is a 48 mile canal joining the Pacific with the Atlantic. It took 10 years to build and was finally completed in 1914. More than 15,000 vessels pass through the canal every year and it is one of the most important points in world maritime trade. It is named in the seven modern wonders of the world.

There are tours of the Panama Canal that are arranged by various travel agencies. Typically, the first place you visit on your tour is the Puente de Las Americas. Then you visit a series of locks starting with the Miraflores Locks. Between the Miraflores Locks and the Pedro Miguel Locks is the giant artificial Miraflored Lake. You will ascend and ascend and pass through the Corte Culebra. Corte Culebra is the narrowest part of the Panama Canal and you get to see how difficult it is for ships to navigate through this area. At the end of the tour you also get to go below the Centennial Canal.

San Blas Panama is an archipelago of 378 cays and islands of which 49 are inhabited by humans. All the islands have been created by the deposition of coral. The sandy beaches and the palm trees here make this place one of the best wonders of nature. The marine life you experience in and around the coral reef is one of the most diverse in the world. Diving, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and swimming are the most popular activities here. San Blas Panama is home to the Kuna Indians.

Watching the Kuna Indians go on with their life in San Blas Panama is like going back by centuries. You will get to see how they lead their life in simplicity, their customs and traditions and this experience makes you feel away from the world you come from.

To watch both the Panama Canal and San Blas Panama you need a proper plan in place. If you plan on your own, you will get to see the best of both these places but will also miss out on some of the other attractions of Panama. Hence, you need someone experienced that will plan your itinerary in such a way that you get to spend a lot of time in both these places but also get to spend enough time in places like Panama City.

The Panama Canal and San Blas Panama will dazzle you completely and show you both sides of our world – brilliance of the human race and brilliance of nature. You will go back home a new person.
